The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment will proceed with all necessary actions to close every pending case, with the ultimate aim of properly complying with the acquis Communautaire and implement the Directives for the protection of the environment in Cyprus, according to a press release issued after the Republic of Cyprus received a reasoned opinion regarding the adequacy of the Natura 2020 Network in Cyprus.

Authorities in Cyprus are examining the contents of the letter sent by the European Commission, in order to provide documented answers and address any inefficiencies.

Minister of Agriculture Costas Kadis will be convening a meeting of all involved parties over the next few days to coordinate actions.

The Ministry notes that over the past few years the Republic of Cyprus has proceeded with multiple actions in the framework of the Natura 2020.
