Pensions (Statutory, Hereditary, Disability, Social)
- The social pension shall be granted to a person who,
(a) He has reached the age of 65, is a resident of the Republic of Cyprus and is not entitled to a pension or other similar payment from any source the amount of which is equal to or higher than the amount of the social pension;
(,) satisfies the conditions of residence, which are,
- Legal residence in Cyprus or in countries which are members of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland for a total period of at least 20 years from the date on which the applicant reaches the age of 40; or
(ii) legal residence in Cyprus or in countries which are members of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland for a total period of 35 years from the date on which the applicant reaches the age of 18 years.
- A requirement for payment of a pension is to submit an application within three months of the day on which payment is due. Failure to submit an application within the three-month period may adversely affect the entitlement to a pension.
- The application must be accompanied by the following original certificates / certificates:
(a) Certificate of birth of the applicant / applicant.
(b) Certification by the Banking / Co-operative Credit Institution, where the beneficiary and the International Account Number (IBAN) are presented.
- Any person who knowingly makes false statements or false representations in order to obtain a pension, either to himself or to another person, is subject to criminal prosecution.
- Certification by the Banking / Co-operative Credit Institution, where the beneficiary and the international account number (IBAN) are presented.
This application is supplemented to provide a social pension.
