On 10 July 2014, the House of Representatives voted the bill submitted by the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance entitled โ€œThe Minimum Guaranteed Income and Social Benefits in Law 2014โ€, which concerns the implementation of a new system social welfare, in order to ensure a minimum standard of living for each family that meets certain criteria. The Law has been published in the Official Gazette of the Republic and will enter into force on July 11, 2014.

In the context of the reform of the social system in question, the Welfare Providence Management Service has been set up, with responsibility for the implementation of the Minimum Guaranteed Income Act and the management of the various social benefits paid by the WSIS.

For the purpose of informing the public about the operation of the new system under consideration, the Ministry of Labor informs you of the following:

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:

All applications and forms are available at all post offices throughout Cyprus.

Application forms can be printed from the bottom of this page and completed after submitting as described above. An application cannot be submitted electronically.

Applications must be submitted to local post offices.

  • There are separate colors for the applications to be submitted by the following categories of applicants:
  1. Citizens Application Form for the Republic of Cyprus (other than public assistance recipients and low pensioners): Color Blue
  2. Application for EU Citizens: Color Green

iii. Application for third-country nationals with long-term resident status or international protection or supplementary protection: Color Orange

  1. Application for Beneficiaries of Low Income Retirement Allowance: Color Gray
  2. Authorization Form: Color White.

SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS:

The complaint shall be submitted to the special form for this purpose within 60 days of the notification of the decision of the Welfare Benefit Management Service to the applicant or the amendment of the legislation on 1.8.2015 regarding the minimum guaranteed income.

Complaints are filed with the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance.

The objection is not considered unless it is accompanied by the necessary supporting documents, which substantiate the alleged allegations. More information in the objection form.

The complaint form (Form EY.12) is available at all post offices throughout Cyprus.

The Minimum Guaranteed Income and, in general, the Social Benefits Laws of 2014-2015, are posted on the Ministryโ€™s website.
