On March 19, 2020, the Chinese Ministry Foreign Affairs and the National Health Commission jointly held a video conference on China-EU epidemic prevention and control. They Introduced COVID 19 epidemic prevention and control work experience to government officials and medical and epidemic prevention experts from 18 European countries, including Cyprus, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
China introduced the latest progress of China’s COVID 19 epidemic prevention and control work, and emphasized that through the adoption of a series of powerful measures, China’s epidemic prevention and control have continuously consolidate and expand in the good situation. At the same time, China has also accumulated important experience for the international community to respond to the epidemic situation. It has made a positive contribution to maintaining global and regional public health security. At present, the epidemic outbreak is spreading from multiple sources around the world, with a large increase in confirmed cases in many European countries. China is willing to always uphold the concept of a community of shared future for mankind and actively strengthen international cooperation in the fight against epidemics with European countries. We believe that through the joint efforts of all parties, we will be able to overcome the epidemic as soon as possible. China’s cooperation with European countries will also usher in new developments.
Chinese experts introduced the Chinese experience and practices from the epidemiological characteristics, prevention and control strategies, clinical diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, and provided professional and detailed answers to more than 80 questions raised by the foreign side. Officials and experts from European countries highly appreciated China’s resolute and powerful prevention and control measures, and thanked China for holding the meeting in a timely manner. They believed that the meeting had a large amount of professional and operable information which is of great significance for guiding the epidemic prevention work of European countries in the rapid outbreak period. All countries sincerely hope to continue to carry out further international cooperation with China in epidemiological research, epidemic prevention and control, vaccine research and development, medical supplies and other aspects, to win this borderless fight against epidemic.
