FAREWELL RECEPTION TO HONOR H.E. HIGH COMMISSIONER OF INDIA Dr. R.K. Raghavan & Mrs. Shanti Raghavan

The Cyprus India Cultural Association and its President, Mr. Chris Michael, organized a farewell reception to honor The High Commissioner of India, H.E. Dr. R.K. Raghavan & Mrs. Shanti Raghavan. The reception was held at the Semeli Hotel, Nicosia on Friday, 17th October.

The guests of honors, were H.E. the Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China, Mr. Huang Xingyuan and also the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Russian Federation Counsellor , Mr. Andrey Panyukhov.

The guests also included, Ambassadors, Counsellors, the Deputy Chief of Police Mr. Frangos. Politicians and friends from both the Cypriot and Indian community.

The following speakers took part:

There was also a speech given on behalf of Mr. Chris Michael, the President of the Cyprus India Cultural Association as follows:

Your Excellency, the Association would like to express its gratitude and appreciation for your commitment, your hard work and your success as the High Commissioner of India for the last 2 years and also your continued support for the activities of the Association.

Undoubtedly, your initiatives, have further improved, the Cultural and Economic relations between our two countries.

Furthermore, we would like to thank India for the big support it gives our country for a just and viable solution to the Cyprus problem.

The Teacher of Indian Culture and Yoga, Mr. Gaurav Vohra and the rest of the members of the HIGH COMMISSION for their continued cooperation and support with the Association.

The Association would also like to thank the supporter for tonightโ€™s event, YUMMY INDIA RESTAURANTS and also media representatives.
The Association promises that it will strive to further support and help the Indian Community in any way it can.

Tonight, we also have the pleasure in announcing, the appointment of Mr. Avneesh Tyagi as the Honorary President of the Cyprus India Cultural Association and we are sure that with his full cooperation the Association will be able to have improved success in the future.

In closing, your Excellency Dr. R.K. Raghavan & Mrs. Shanti Raghavan, the Association would like to thank you both once again for your contribution and achievements during your stay in Cyprus and would like to wish you and your family, good health, peace and happiness for the future.

Your presence here in Cyprus will be sorely missed.
