Beijing is committed to respecting the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Cyprus, Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus, Liu Yantao, assured House President, Adamos Adamou.
According to a press release issued by the parliament, during their meeting, on Tuesday, Adamou and Liu discussed issues of mutual and special interest for each country.
The House President underlined the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between Cyprus and China, on the basis of common principles, solidarity and mutual support and reassured of Cyprus` steadfast support to the respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China and to the One-China policy.
Adamou expressed sincere thanks for the long-standing principled stance of China as regards the Cyprus problem and the efforts to solve it, according to the international law and the UN relevant resolutions.
The Chinese Ambassador praised the long-standing relations of mutual respect and mutual support between the two countries, noting the substantive role which the House plays towards this direction.
Liu expressed his country`s appreciation for the long-standing support of the Republic of Cyprus to the One-China policy and assured the House President of the attachment of China to the respect of the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Cyprus, the press release concluded.
