1,304 passengers arrived on Saturday via Larnaka airport, 297 COVID-19 tests done

A total of 1,304 passengers arrived to Cyprus on Saturday via Larnaka International Airport during the first day of the second phase of the resumption of flights, following the relaxation of measures taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The passengers arrived with a total of 11 flights from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Greece, all countries included in category A.

Visitors from countries in category A will no longer need a COVID-19 negative test but random checks will be conducted, as the authorities have announced. The Health Ministry announced that 297 tests were done yesterday and the procedure will continue today as well to passengers arriving at Larnaka and Paphos airports. It is estimated that the sampling will reach around 300 passengers per day.

Yesterday nine flights departed from Larnaka.

The airports` authorities said that all went smoothly in all arrivals and departures and the personnel and passengers followed all the procedures and the health measures imposed.

A total of 13 flights are set to arrive today at Larnaka from Sofia, Budapest, Bucharest, Tel Aviv, Thessaloniki and Vienna.
Twelve departure flights are sheduled to fly to Greece, Bulgaria, Israel and Austria.

Only passengers who are set to travel are allowed to enter the airports. 

Passengers arriving from countries in Category B need to show a negative COVID-19 test valid 72 hours prior to their arrival on the island.  All repatriates are tested for COVID-19, according to the Health Ministry.

Category A includes the following countries: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia and South Korea.

Category B countries are: Israel, Poland and Romania, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Jordan, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
