Cyprus broad public sector employment in the 4th quarter of 2021 reached 71,563 people recording an increase of 2.3% compared with the respective period of 2020, the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) said on Wednesday. The employment in general government was 65,920 and in the publicly owned enterprises and companies 5,643 persons, while in the general government, which consists of the government, non-profit organisations and local authorities, total employment reached 53,027, 8,476 and 4,417 persons respectively.
