Thousands of Runners and Records marked the 2nd Radisson Blu International Marathon of Larnaca

From abroad came many winners in the different categories of the event.

With entries from more than 40 countries worldwide, thousands of runners ran on Sunday morning in Larnaca, starting at the Finikoudes.

A lot of the winners in the various categories of the event (Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km, Individual, 5km Corporate, McDonald’s Kids Race, RMHC Fun Race) came from abroad.

According to the announcement, entries, visitors and route records surpassed all expectations.

The start of the 5 km event was given off by the Minister of Education, Kostas Hampiaouris, together with the Mayor of Larnaca Andreas Vyras, and Savvas Kakkos, a representative of Radisson Blu.

In the 10 km, for men, Giorgos Minos (00:31:16) finished first, followed by Abraham Abraham (00:34:55) and Evgeni Zarakovskii (000: 35: 27).

In the womenโ€™s race the triad was Dagmara Handzlik (00:35:43), Zoi Andrikopoulou (00:39:07) and Eleni Ioannou (00:39:46).

This year’s Radisson Blu International Larnaca Marathon was special as it was dedicated to the memory of George Mesimertsi, who died this summer.
