ZHUJI, China, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) — Dominique Jones notched a game-high 53 points as the Jilin Northeast Tigers snapped their three-game losing streak with a 123-98 victory over the Zhejiang Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Monday.

Jones also contributed 12 rebounds, eight assists and six steals, while Jiang Yuxing finished with 22 points and nine rebounds.

Miroslav Radulica led Zhejiang with 30 points and 11 rebounds, with center Hu Jinqiu adding 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Jilin head coach Wang Han praised his players’ performance at both ends after the commanding victory.

“Although we let opponents score many points in the paint, I think generally we did well in defense, We made 53.8 percent of our 3-pointer attempts and shot 55.2 percent from the field. These reflect that we played in a more reasonable manner in the offense end,” he said.

Jones came off the bench to score 20 points on eight-of-nine shooting, giving Jilin a 37-24 lead in the first quarter.

Jilin widened the gap to 20 points after Jiang Yuxing’s layup, and led 63-47 at the break.

Trailing by 16 points, Zhejiang failed to cut the deficit and Jilin led 89-73 going into the last period.

Jilin had the game’s biggest advantage of 123-93 after Cui Jinming made a steal and delivered a pass to teammate Liu Tianyi for a 3-pointer with 1:54 on the clock, condemning Zhejiang to its sixth loss in a row.

“We are experiencing a very, very tough period. I told my players that they should not be discouraged by the results but instead hold their heads high every time they step on the court and unite together as a team,” said Zhejiang coach Wang Bo. Enditem
