It is reported that some โChinese investorsโ have made high-profile investments in the occupied area and met with the newly elected leader, which has aroused many concerns.
The Chinese Embassy in Cyprus solemnly declares that the Chinese government firmly pursues โOne Cyprusโprinciple and does not recognize the so-called “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”. China has been consistently committed to safeguarding the authority of relevant United Naitons resolutions and promoting the settlement of the Cyprus Question. China joined the UN Security Council in October in a Presidential Statement, expressing concern over the plan to reopen Varosha coast, calling for reversal of decision and urging adherence to resolutions.
In view of this, Chinese citizens are seriouly advised to invest prudently in the occupied area, avoid violating the relevant UN resolutions and the principled position of the Chinese government in their self-determined and market-driven investment, and avoid being hyped by media and damaging the friendly relations between China and Cyprus. They are also advised to objectively evaluate the investment security under the circumstances that the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” is not recognized by the international community and the political settlement of the Cyprus Question is impeded.
