Recently, Mr Αβέρωφ Νεοφύτου – Averof Neofytou President of the Democratic Rally, on behalf of his party, sent a congratulatory letter to Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China and General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, extending his warm congratulations and best wishes on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cyprus.
In the letter, Mr. Neofytou affirmed China’s achievements under President Xi’s leadership and through the use of reforms and positive changes. He also reviewed the committed development of bilateral relations between Cyprus and China over the past 50 years, and expressed his expectation on further strengthening bilateral ties and mutual support on each other’s vital interests.
Mr. Neofytou thanked China for its firm position on the Cyprus issue, and was expecting China to continue its constructive role. The clear position of Cyprus in support of the “One-China policy” was also re-affirmed in the letter.
