Ambassador Huang Xingyuan bids farewell to Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides

On July 27, 2020, Ambassador Huang Xingyuan paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides to bid farewell.
Minister Christodoulides said that Cyprus cherishes its close relations and sound cooperation with China on both bilateral and multilateral levels. Cyprus deeply appreciates that China was the first country to extend timely assistance to Cyprus after the COVID-19 outbreak. Minister Christodoulides commended Ambassador Huang and the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus for their great and fruitful efforts in maintaining the sound momentum of China-Cyprus relations. Cyprus sincerely appreciates Chinaโ€™s consistent support on the Cyprus Problem. Cyprus will continue to adhere to the “One China” policy. Minister Christodoulides wished Ambassador Huang every success in his new position.

Ambassador Huang said that during his tenure in Cyprus, he has developed profound friendship with colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and has witnessed the deepening of China-Cyprus relations in bilateral and multilateral fields. Ambassador Huang thanked Minister Christodoulides for firmly supporting development of China-Cyprus relations and cooperation. In face of the complex and unpredictable international environment and the impact of the pandemic, China and Cyprus have demonstrated solidarity and mutual support. China is willing to work with Cyprus to push China-Cyprus relations to a new level. Ambassador Huang said that he will continue to follow and support the development of the China-Cyprus relations.
