A Swedish report has seriously questioned a controversial U.S.-led report on northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which was widely circulated among Western media.

The Swedish report, compiled by the Transnational Foundation for Peace & Future Research (TFF), was published on April 27, as a rebuttal to the original report, which was published on March 8, 2021 by the American Newlines Institute, in cooperation with Canada’s Raoul Wallenberg Center for Human Rights. The TFF report calls the U.S. report “politicized” and “not trustworthy” due to “fake and dubious data”.
