Cyprus Meteorology Department upgraded the warning from yellow to orange for heavy rainy weather valid from 1700 local time today until 1700 on Friday. The new warning says that prolonged locally and temporarily heavy rain will affect the area at times. The total precipitation is likely to locally range between 85 and 110 millimetres per 24 hours, mainly over the western half of the island and ove mountainous areas.
